IN THE CLASSROOM
Each Friday I will send home your child's work from that week. You will notice many of the projects go along with our weekly theme(s). Right now we are working on activities that develop your child's small muscles. These include their fingers, hands and eyes. Our goal is to prepare the kids to be able to use scissors to cut correctly, hold the pencil the right way and to prepare them for reading from left to right in years to come. Every week we use our class sensory table to expose the children to different textures and smells. Sensory activities make learning so much fun for the kids and that is what school is ALL about!!!
Everyday in Circle Time we do the following:
Calendar: Days of the week & the Months of the year.
Weather: We ask them to see if it sunny, rainy, cloudy, etc...
Scripture: We talk about the monthly Bible verse.
The Pledge: We talk about it and practice!
We also go over our shapes, colors and numbers everyday in circle time. One BIG party of our time together is Show & Tell with our class leader of the day. The kids LOVE this time, as they share their favorite books with their classmates!!
